What is User Research in Singapore

We often find that most of the products or services that appear in the market do not meet the real needs of consumers. “Why is it so designed?” “This is too unreasonable.” “If so,” … User research is an important step in bridging this gap by establishing how people understand and use products and services to bridge the gap between user needs and product business goals.
User research is widely used, ranging from websites, APPs, mobile electronic devices, to medical devices, industrial products, and banking services. Prior to or during product design, using research methods such as interviews, questionnaires, field walks, usability testing, etc. can make every day inconvenient products and services easy to use, easy to use, and successful. If the product is already in the market, user research is an excellent way to help companies improve existing products, create new products or “stir the market”.
User research can help designers and businesses rediscover and define specific issues and opportunities to create creative responses. But the ultimate goal of user research is not just to make people happy, but to create successful products and services by making people happy. Using user research to understand how people think about the world, you’ll be more likely to make good products or services.
The core of user research concerns is user experience
When users are satisfied with a product or service, what really appeals to them is actually the combined experience with that product or service. The industry and foothold different, the title of the experience will be somewhat different. For example, in the service industry and business level, many of them are called customer experiences, and in the software industry, especially in the software development industry, they are called user experience (UX) Singapore.
There is a very famous model for UX, the “user experience elements” model proposed by Garrett. Users see the surface directly, that is, a series of pages with pictures and texts. Below the presentation layer are the skeletons used to optimize the layout of the design. A layer of structure, frame layer defines the interface/navigation on the arrangement of the various elements, the structure layer is to determine which categories should appear there; and the structure layer comes from the scope, it determines Website/software features and functions; scope layer is based on the strategy, these strategies include not only what business operators get from the website/software, but also what users want from the website/software.

UCD(User Centered Design)
It is now widely accepted that user-centred design approaches (UCDs) are the key to generating good UX. Depending on the product being developed, the development team, and the development environment, the UCD development process will be different.
Iterative development
In iterative openness, user research can occur in every cycle of the development cycle, with different technologies adapted to different points in the product development process. In each iteration, UCDs mostly have the same framework:
- Survey: grasp the user’s status;
- Analysis: From the use of the situation to explore user needs;
- Design: design solutions to meet user needs;
- Evaluation: evaluation solution;
- Improvement: Feedback on the evaluation results to improve the solution;
- Repeated: repeated evaluation and improvement

Waterfall development

In waterfall development, user research usually occurs at the beginning and at the end, before writing requirements and after writing the code. The first few rounds of user research report are the user needs, the final evaluation of the product prototype or finished product.
